The White Ring
Legend in 22 km
Every year, a major sporting event casts a spell over fans of alpine racing: The White Ring – The Race. In the midst of one of the most spectacular winter scenarios in Austria, around 1,000 participants compete on the legendary 22 km circuit through Lech, Oberlech, Zürs and Zug.
The route leads over five descents, through five lifts, with challenging passages and a total altitude profile of around 5,500 metres. The start is often at the Rüfikopf mountain station, the finish is also there – a circuit that demands strength, technique and fitness.
Since its debut, the race has been one of the highlights of the winter season in the Arlberg. It combines sporting ambition with scenic fascination and emotional excitement. For many athletes, the White Ring is the race of their winter – a moment when times, finish line photos and personal limits come together.
