Winter hiking

Quiet paths, clear air, moving soul

When the ski slopes are dormant and the mountains are bathed in white, around 50 kilometres of groomed winter hiking trails open up in Lech-Zürs. The Hotel Kristberg is the perfect starting point for your hike. Whether through gentle forests, over snow-covered hills, along the Lech or up to the Skyspace – each route tells its own story.

One highlight is the “Snowflakes Panorama Trail” on the Rüfikopf (2,350 m), which offers spectacular views of the Valluga and surrounding peaks. In Oberlech, paths to Skyspace, Kriegeralpe or Gaisbühel invite you to take a break – and there are cosy benches everywhere along the way to let your gaze wander.

These walks are more than just sporting activity: they become a meditative journey through a winter landscape with many voices. The crunching underfoot, the clear skies and the play of light and shadow in the forest bring peace and closeness to nature. Even guests who don’t want to get on their skis every day will find quiet happiness here.

Tips for your hike

  • Start in daylight and plan your walking times generously – snow and inclines have a more intensive effect.
  • Wear good, waterproof footwear with a tread – and poles or Grödel if necessary.
  • Keep looking back: the silhouettes of the mountains tell stories about light and design.
  • Combine with summit restaurants or art visits (e.g. Skyspace) to enrich your route.
